It’s a huge honor to share the North Remixes, all the artists involved are masters at their craft and provided a unique vision on the original songs. The North Remixes features songs from Marley Carrol, Owsey, Feverkin, and Nifty Earth. Keep the winter theme, these songs are chilled, deep, and melodic. Hope you all enjoy these remixes, many thanks to the artists involved.

More about how the North Remixes came about:

The North EP is a glimpse into the Arctic landscapes of our world from a sonic perspective. This project was special because I drew inspiration from stories my grandfather told about growing up in the Faroe Islands. He always described it with such detail that I could feel the cold wet weather, smell the salty air, and feel the never setting sun in the summer. My goal with the North EP was to try and capture this in a sonic space.

Although I’ve never been to Faroes or any other Arctic area, the North EP aims to transfer this stoic vibe into an electronic music space. Each of the tunes touch on a different feeling I associate with the pictures I’ve seen and stories I’ve heard. To display that sonically I used analog synthesizers and crisp percussion to capture the brittle cold feeling of the North. To contrast those sounds with warmth, I used an electric and acoustic guitar and lush vocals from Axel Mansoor and Alaska Reid.

North is the third installment in a series of four EP’s themed after a compass rose. The album in its entirety is called “New Frontier” and marks a period of growth in my and hopefully a new one for you while you listen.
